Spontaneous Joy and Freedom in Chloé’s SS25 Collection

Bohème Aesthetics Continue to Lead Trends

The fashion industry remembers few instances when a designer’s debut collection instantly captures the audience’s hearts and introduces several loud trends. Last season, Chloé’s new creative director, Chamaena Kamali, who took the reins of the brand after 20 years, unveiled a line that remarkably revived the boho-chic aesthetic. According to Lyst, brand searches skyrocketed by 91% after the show, and celebrities like J.Lo, Sienna Miller, and Suki Waterhouse added pieces from the collection to their wardrobes. So, it’s no wonder that anticipation for Chamaena Kamali’s new designs for the Spring-Summer 2025 season was high. Spoiler: the collection maintained its romantic, light, and airy style, but with a fresh twist.

Having decades of experience with Chloé, beginning her career under Phoebe Philo and later with Clare Waight Keller, Kamali has a unique understanding of the spirit and aesthetics inherent in every Chloé detail. For her new collection, she drew inspiration from the brand’s 1970s archives, when Karl Lagerfeld was at the helm. Elements of Stella McCartney’s and Phoebe Philo’s styles are also reflected in the line, making it particularly relevant.

“Chloé is not just a moment; it’s an eternal state of mind driven by instinct and optimism. What matters are the feelings and intuition that guide this very personal, intimate, and sensual way of dressing. The mood is light, airy, sensual, and joyful,” Kamali wrote in her show notes.

The collection opened with a sheer white jumpsuit featuring flowing, airy pants and puffed sleeves, adorned with lace inserts, ruffles, and rose embroidery. Each of these romantic details permeated almost every piece of the line—from bloomer shorts to outerwear, bodysuits, and swimsuits. The color palette seemed to play with all pastel shades: Kamali initially focused on soft milky, peach, pistachio, and creamy yellow tones, later adding deeper pink and blue hues. Toward the end of the collection, she departed from monochromatic looks and introduced vibrant floral prints on suits with tops, sheer, weightless dresses reminiscent of clouds, and basic jeans. Additionally, swimwear featured a flamingo pattern.

In accessories, Kamali once again emphasized gold jewelry, diversifying the outfits with necklaces featuring the Chloé name, pearl pendants, and earrings with fringes and shells.

“This collection embodies spontaneous joy and a liberating expression of complete freedom,” the designer shared her thoughts on the line.

Thus, the Chloé SS25 collection not only continues the bohemian tradition but also brings a fresh perspective, allowing each of us to feel free and confident in our choices.
