Gucci, Prada, and Other Iconic Brands
Fashion month is in full swing, and our team is closely following the shows and presentations for the Spring-Summer 2025 collections from leading industry figures. In New York, we noted the minimalist lines from Proenza Schouler, Alaïa, and Ralph Lauren. Now, let’s move to the highly anticipated Milan Fashion Week, where Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Prada, and Bottega Veneta have unveiled their latest collections.
Gucci
Creative director Sabato de Sarno drew inspiration for his new SS25 collection from "the moment when the sun dips into the sea at the end of an August day." The atmosphere of relaxation and carefree summer days permeates the designer’s looks, from floral-print scarves to bright beach hats, as well as warm sunset hues like white, orange, brown, and the signature Gucci Rosso Ancora. He named his line "Everyday Grandeur," emphasizing the comfort and ease of Gucci clothing. Models walked the runway in low-rise pants, asymmetrical airy dresses, and leather sets.
Prada
The collection everyone was waiting for reveals the trends that will dominate the upcoming Spring-Summer season. The creative duo of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons is known for surprises, and this season they presented a futuristic vision where "elements from different eras coexist, challenging any theory of chronology." The show opened with a delicate floral-print dress, setting a romantic tone. The runway also featured metallic-effect mini skirts and the brand's signature polo shirts.
Dolce & Gabbana
The collection titled "Italian Beauty" brought the atmosphere of old Hollywood to the Milan Fashion Week runway. All models appeared in blonde wigs reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe. Vittoria Ceretti opened the show in a white cone-bust dress. The collection featured fitted suits, lace, and floral prints that highlighted elegance.
Bottega Veneta
Matthieu Blazy created a childhood atmosphere by placing rabbit and penguin-shaped chairs in the front row. He inspired guests to feel freedom and explore the new through intentionally disproportionate clothing — blazers, trousers, and asymmetrical skirts. The collection also included playful details, such as bunnies on bags.
Fendi
Celebrating its centenary, Fendi focused on the roaring twenties. Designers highlighted modernity in clothing, using sheer dresses, knit sets, and lightweight skirts. Elements like tiny floral prints and fringe added vibrancy.
These collections showcase how global brands interpret modern trends through the lens of history, creating unique looks that will be relevant in the coming months.
