Shining Fashion: A Review of the Most Impressive Collections and Updated Trends

In the heart of the Mediterranean, on the shores of France, in the inimitable city of Marseille, Chanel welcomed the world with the new Cruise 2024/25 collection. The event took place on the rooftop of the Cité Radieuse, a historic building created by the eminent architect Le Corbusier in 1952. From this height, guests of the show were able to enjoy a magical panoramic view of the picturesque resort town.

Before looking at the collection, it is worth remembering the short film by Ledge Lee, which the brand presented before the release of the line. In it, Chanel tried to capture the beautiful atmosphere of the old town, from the streets to the historical monuments, with the help of talented dancers from the National Ballet of Marseille.

The world of art, architecture and cultural heritage is reflected in the collection. Virginie Viard, Creative Director of Chanel, shared, ‘Sun, architecture, music and dance: Marseille has a very strong sense of freedom. I was inspired by the codes of this lifestyle, everyday life and everything that encourages movement.’

The collection featured knitted cardigan and mini-skirt sets, short-sleeved tweed jackets paired with shorts, solid swimwear, a variety of dresses in different lengths and denim suits. The show was rounded off with 12 white looks, ranging from casual to festive.

The colour palette ranged from bright and contrasting shades to more muted and basic shades. Prints were also presented - mainly squares, stripes and geometric motifs.

Equally important was the focus on jewellery. Chanel focused on necklaces in several rows, large pearls and logo elements, voluminous silver earrings and false nails, which complemented the looks like nothing else.

The Chanel Cruise 2024/25 show in Marseille was a combination of elegance, style and freedom that characterises the brand and the city where it took place.
